Pratyancha:

Description

“Pratyancha”, the social diffusion strategy competition will be conducted jointly by NIF and SIGMA. The competition will be conducted in two phases as follows.
Registration & Project Allocation

A set of current socially relevant projects that require social diffusion strategy will be provided by NIF in the form of case studies. These case studies will be categorized region-wise and abstracts of these casestudies will be put up on the NIF’s website. Students would need to form teams (of max 3) and register by sending a mail to pratyancha08.ensemble@gmail.com.Teams will be allotted projects based on their location by NIF.


Preliminary Round

Each of the registered teams would be provided contact details of the collaborators / project mentorsfor the geographical region to which the innovation belongs and would be encouraged to visit the innovator to gather first hand information. The teams would also be provided further details / relevant data for the project allotted to them. With the additional information and interaction with the mentor the teams would have to extend their executive summary into a detailed diffusion plan. All teams whose diffusion plans are promising will be given certificates of appreciation and offered opportunities to assist in executing their plans as consultants.


Final Round

A maximum of 6 teams will be selected to present their diffusion plan to the evaluation panel at XLRI during Ensemble. The winner and the runner up will be chosen based on the presentation made and the detailed diffusion plan submitted.

Phase 1 - Registration & Project Selection
Register by sending a mail with your team details to

Teams will get a link to the NIF site and a user name and password, in order to access the cases. From the list of cases, select  innovations and send us your preference

Phase 2 – Social Diffusion Plan Selection
You will be allotted one of the 3 cases based on first come first served basis and your location. Teams will be provided with a detailed case study on the innovation and will be allowed to interact with their mentor/innovator. Submit a detailed business plan for diffusion of the product through non-commercial means.

Phase 3 – Presentation
A maximum of 6 teams will be short listed for the final presentation. Contestants will be invited to XLRI during Ensemble 2008

  • Open to all full time students from B Schools

  • Maximum of 3 members in a team , No person can be in more than 1 team

  • Any number of teams from an Institute 

Report:

  • Font - Times New Roman 12, Single Line Spacing

  • Name & Details of authors should be provided in the 1st page only

  • 1500 word Executive Summary to be provided at the start of the report

 Evaluation

The evaluation panel would consist of eminent personalities both from academia and industry.  Evaluation of the detailed report and final presentation will be based on the following parameters.

  • Understanding of the innovation and stakeholders

  • Ease of implementation of diffusion plan

  • Ease of replicating the business model in other similar geographies

  • Awareness development material and strategy created

• Announcement of project allotment – January 2nd 2008
• Deadline for submission of detailed diffusion plan – 2359 Hrs, January 11th 2008
• Announcement of shortlisted teams – January 13nd 2008
• Final presentation at Ensemble 2008 on XLRI campus – January 26th 2008

All short listed teams will be provided a participation certificate. In addition to this, based on the panel’s evaluation of the strategy proposed they will be given an opportunity to assist as consultants in the execution of the proposed diffusion strategy. Funding may also be provided for the project through MVIF.
